Why we can’t have nice things.
Real short post this time.
I hated to do it, but sometimes things just cross a line.
Though RFC 2142 says I ought to maintain several well-known addresses so I may be contacted in the event of trouble with my domain, I’ve found that these addresses are getting choked completely with spam that appears designed to untrain Bayesian filters for junk mail.
I cannot take it any more, and have just turned them off. The signal-to-noise ratio was so poor, any real communication would probably get lost in there anyway.
If you need to get my attention, find me here. There’s a contact link.

To the David Cain and the Cain Family;
I’m working on creating a philatelic exhibit that tells the story behind the acronym “ZIP” inscription marking found in the marginal Tab adjacent to the stamp. The acronym “ZIPS “marginal inscription marking has not been studied or categorized to date. It’s the true common denominator of any collector choosing to specialize in the area of collecting ZIP tab’s 31-year span from 1963 to 1994 is the acronym “ZIP” inscription marking found in the marginal Tab adjacent to the stamp.
I’m reaching out to you and your family for any additional information you would be willing to share and provide about your Dad. D. Jamison Cain and his role creating the phase “Use ZIP Code”, as well as, the acronym “ZIP” initiated by the postal service in 1963 for promotion purposes of the Zone Improvement Plan.
I believe from my research he is the father of the phase “Use ZIP Code”, as well as, the acronym “ZIP” initiated by the postal service in 1963 for promotion purposes of the Zone Improvement Plan. So your father is my starting point for developing my exhibit on the topic. I’m looking for additional information on your Dad’s in involvement and creation of phase “Use ZIP Code” and acronym “ZIP”
Although Mr. Zip logo marking got all the attention and glory. The ever present acronym “ZIP” inscription marking did the heavy lifting over the 31 year promotional program. Even after the retirement of the famous and popular Mr. Zip character in 1968 the dull and eminently ignorable “Use Correct ZIP Code” marginal inscription marking presence and contributions continued until its retirement in 1994 followed closely by the Zippy Collector Club International (ZCCI) the philatelic society affiliate that specialized in this area. . To date the full and complete story of the ZIP tab marking has remained unfinished and your fathers contributions with the creation of the Use ZIP Code phase been full recognized. Even though the inscription marking can lay claim to:
• Being the longest running marginal inscription marking of a public message found on selvage margins of US postage
• The Inscription marking is first and only acronym used on U.S. postage stamps
• And I believe both of the above claims can also be added onto the international front
• Lastly, ZIP (Zone Improvement Program) has been the most successful promotional campaign undertaken by the USPS or any gov’t agency
I have a personal attachment to the seemingly simplest inscription marking. I believe I am one of the last Mohican’s alive of the long past defunct Zippy Collector Club International (ZCCI) joining at the age of 15. I am on a mission to finish the story for past the Zippy Collector Club International (ZCCI) collectors and stamp collecting community in general.
Thanks for your Time. Any information and assistance you might be willing to share with me to complete the story would be greatly appreciated
Respectfully
