Parkway Journey 2007
This year, I tried to focus more on color and detail and work up a few shots of stuff that moved me, rather than bring back thousands of frames of stuff to sort. The parkway was very green again this year, so my plan proved a good one for conditions.
I shot a couple of HDR images on the parkway - the first in the series is the more successful of the two. Still learning to work with HDR.
I'm changing the way I work with color, too. It's part of a long evolution of the processing tools. These images were processed as part of a Camera Raw workflow, but I set them up for the gamut of the sRGB colorspace to begin with. I think this will preserve as much color as possible on the way to the web browser.
Also, all images here had a straight daylight color balance set up in Camera Raw. That means the color of the image will shift with the color of the light throughout the day. Fine by me - my favorite shots on film worked this way.
Finally, I've noted continuing problems with Camera Raw and EXIF data - sorry to say the EXIF data didn't make it into the gallery images this time. Will look into this and if there's a good way to fix it, will re-upload the images.
Hope you enjoy 'em!
